This Colorful E-Citroen Will Soon Be Yours
Life is meant to be colorful!
When I was 10, I wrote a Christmas letter: “Dear Santa, I wish to have a rainbow car this year.” That year, instead of receiving a rainbow car, I got a rainbow pair of roller skates. Maybe because I forgot to attach a copy of my driver’s license to the letter.
Or maybe Santa had already known that Citroen will someday make me an awesome rainbow electric car–as in the one they are unveiling this year. It’s a four-seater cabriolet, and it’s something that will make the world a better place. A fun car to drive with the top speed of 68 mph and a range of 124 miles! The Méhari concept caught my eyes at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and Citroen has decided to bring it to the market by 2016.
With the ambition “to bring to market cheery, optimistic vehicles that are different from the rest”, Citroen has designed the car with a removable top that is closed at the side by a foldaway system with large windows. The rear seats fold down, the chassis is raised for some mild off-roading and the bodywork is made of flexible plastic to make this feel-good vehicle as light and maintenance-free as possible. In fact, it can be hosed all over, inside and out.
Want to know how ingenious the car is? Citroen already shot a relatively Hollywood-style introduction:
The company has not yet announced the price, but it will be cheaper than a Tesla for sure.
