Toyota’s Design and Its 6 Safety Sense Features

Toyota has done a good job of making their vehicles safe for the entire family. It’s this same dedication to safety that has changed how people view the car industry. With the introduction of Toyota’s Safety Sense 3.0, the stakes are at an all-time high.

TSS 3.0

There is a big reason why customers prefer TSS in their cars purchased from Toyota slc ut. In 2015, Toyota created the first car in their lineup with this proprietary safety sense system. Toyota Safety Sense C (TSS-C) and Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P) were the two introductory candidates that would carry the brands flag. What started out as an advanced-driver assist feature has turned into the cornerstone of safety with the Toyota brand. Now, TSS 3.0 is the modern choice that is a complete suite of safety features.

1. Pre-Collision System

The manual side of this feature prevents forward collisions by giving you visual and audio warnings before impact. When that fails, the system is intelligent enough to take over with automatic braking. This TSS feature has already saved the lives of drivers that lost situational awareness for even a slight second.

2. Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

The highway can be a boring place when you spend hours going in a straight line. DRCC is a dynamic cruise control system with built in vehicle-to-vehicle distance control. This automated flexibility of this system is what makes it ten times better than normal cruise control.

3. Lane Departure Alert

There are many instances when staying in your lane can be problematic. It isn’t a skill issue, but more of an adaptability issue where cars have gotten larger but roads have stayed the same size. LDA helps out the driver by providing a queue whenever you cross white/yellow markings or some road-edge boundary lines. The system is highly proficient, and will only activate corrective steering when speeds are above 30 mph.

4. Lane Tracing Assist

Lane Tracing Assist works together with DRCC to provide active driving assistance. With everything working in tandem, the Emergency Driving Stop System will monitor situations where the current driving operation is dangerous. This includes driving outside of the lines or erratic steering along the roads.

5. Road Sign Assist

The built in intelligent camera detects stop, speed limit, yield and many other warning signs. The Multi-Informational Display has saved drivers thousands of dollars in traffic fines per year. This is probably one of the most intuitive (and nonintrusive) features of its kind in the car industry.

6. Proactive Driving Assist

Proactive Driving Assist is a modern support system that gently guides the driver during some of the more difficult driving tasks on the road. It automates minor functions for convenience while taking some load off of the heavier driving functions. The best thing about this system is that it is so optimized that you’ll never know it is helping with your driving.

It Makes Sense

There has never been a better time to buy a car, truck or SUV. Toyota is going in hard on safety, and everyone is paying close attention. If you’re shopping for a new vehicle, then this is the one brand where there is no wrong choice.
