Mitsubishi Teases New Crossover Concept For 2015
Mitsubishi will be bringing a new plug-in hybrid crossover concept to the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, which the automaker says hints at its future direction, both in terms of styling and technology. Apart from a pair of teaser images, the only information available is that the concept will come with two-wheel drive, a plug-in hybrid setup and a crossover body.
Not much else is known, but the teaser images look more than a little familiar. Mitsubishi showed an XR PHEV supermini-SUV concept at the Paris Motor Show last year, and the design appears remarkably similar. However, it could also turn out to be a plug-in hybrid replacement for the current ASX mid-size SUV.
The concept fits in with the firm’s plans to have hybrid or fully electric models across the entire range in the next few years. According to Mitsubishi UK managing director Lance Bradley, the target is for 20 per cent of production to be electric models by 2020.
