CES 2015| Misfit Is Now Making Smart Light Bulbs, Still Working On Smartbands As Well

The Internet of things has one of its brightest ideas since the internet went mainstream.

I like Misfit Wearable not just because the CEO is Sonny Vu, a Vietnamese American, but because what they have been doing is amazing. A company that was inspired by the 1997 commercial which debuted Apple’s “Think Different” slogan: “Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes”, and it has never wanted to stop surprising the tech-savvy community with its new smart products.

At CES 2015, millions of gadgets from thousands of manufacturers are on display. And Misfit’s first smart light bulb is one of them. It’s called Misfit Bolt. Unlike other smart light bulbs that have been presented, the Bolt doesn’t require a centralized hub for it to work.

“It’s a wirelessly connected color-changing light bulb that lets users personalize their home lighting,” described by Misfit Team. The Misfit Bolt is a coolest light bulb that I’ve ever seen before. It allows you to change between millions of color combinations and ships with pre-made scenes and the ability to change lighting based on photos you choose for creating landscapes. The bulb works directly with your phone through the Misfit Home app to adjust the brightness or turn on and off the light.

A short demo will give you an idea of how it works:

More flexible for more comfortable! The Misfit Bolt is available for pre-order at misfit.com with a $49.99 price tag. It seems a good time for us to change our light bulbs.
