Adam: The Student E-Bike

“It’s spring fever. That’s what the name of it is. And when you’ve got it, you want – oh. You don’t quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heartache, you want it so!” — Mark Twain
I’ve always ridden pushbikes. They’re easy to ride, affordable, and can be pretty quick too. However, I can see why some can be put off when it comes to riding a bike. After a while of riding, it can get tiresome and uncomfortable. Thankfully, there is now a solution to this problem, a road ebike! Electric bikes are all the rave these days. They’re more economical and affordable compared to a vehicle, except they don’t require half as much work as a standard pushbike!
I accidentally met this e-bike on a spring day in Amsterdam. It got my attention with an iconic design and the name “Adam”. A bicycle that reminds me of the future, designed with students in mind for a very specific result: a bike that is awesome to see, great to ride and incredibly adaptive to student’s 24-hour lifestyle.
This innovative e-bike is a product of Springtime, an industrial design studio located in Amsterdam, Netherland. Over the years, the work of Springtime has been awarded with many design awards, both in Europe and abroad. “We create exciting and paradigm-shifting products, experiences and brands in the areas of mobility, sports, interior, public design and brand development,” said Springtime’s spokesman.
Adam was created not just to satisfy getting from point A to point B, but to assist with everything in between. Yes, it power-assists, but the detachable battery also houses your phone for navigation, serves as a peripheral power bank for your devices, and even doubles as a speaker so you can take your tunes with you on and off your ride. Being durable, the battery pack can be taken anywhere in the city.
“I love attention. I can’t stand not having it.” — Adam Levine
