Drones Flyers Compete As In Star Wars

Dozens of drones conducted a three-lap circuit through trees last month in the race that is as incredible as in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi as they zoomed through the forest of Endor.

Herve Pellarin, President of the Airgonay Drone Club in the French Alps, posted a video to YouTube that shows dozens of lightweight drones taking off and zipping around a forest at speeds of up to 40 MPH, while dodging trees and other drones.

This comes as new advancements allow faster and better drones to be made by companies. A few years ago, you wouldn’t have been able to fly the drones like this because the controls wouldn’t allow such tight maneuvering and the range wasn’t good enough. If you’re still having issues with your drones range then visit dronesuavreport.com to find out how to solve the issue! Hopefully, drone technology can continue to advance and have more uses elsewhere.

“It’s fantastic! I can’t believe what I’m watching now. The drones are taking off and racing around the course, as well as the various competitors who steer the devices by means of on-drone cameras and “First-Person View” goggles. Everything is amazing!” said a fan.

According to Pellarin, the race produced a few broken propellers, but no major damage to the drones, which are even lighter than popular consumer models like the 2.2-pound Phantom 2. He predicts that drones in the future race will come with small chips capable of simulating laser blasts.

Pellarin, who is a virtual reality developer, said he hopes the YouTube video will inspire people in countries around the world to organize similar competitions, and that top competitors will come to square off in a global tournament one year from now.

By 2020, the United States is projected to spend less than half the worldwide total on drone research and development, as other countries – principally in Asia – step up production of their own unmanned aircraft, according to a report by national security consulting firm Forecast International. Currently, The world’s largest logistic service, Deutsche Post AG – better known as Deutsche Post DHL– announced that it’s going to start using drones to deliver medicines to those living on an island in the North Sea. Facebook is also working on its Internet Drones project.
