The BMW Ultimate Drifting Challenge: Man VS. Machine
The BMW Group has created a new kind of research prototype for highly automated driving by setting a drifting contest between a professional racer driving a BMW M235i and a BMW M235 autonomous prototype.
The BMW M235i was voted as one of the 10 best cars for 2015. It carries an inline six-cylinder engine pushing out 320 hp and wears staggered tires on its 18-inch wheels. With 3525 lbs to punt around, the M235i puts up hero numbers, including: 0 to 60 MPH in 4.3 seconds and 70 MPH-to-0 braking in 153 feet.
