Volvo’s On Call App Lets You Control Your Car From Your Wrist
Volvo will soon release its On Call app for Android Wear devices and the Apple Watch, after all, and it comes with all the features its predecessors for tablets and smartphones have.
Car owners with On Call on their wrists will have the ability to control their vehicle’s settings, lock doors, unlock doors, locate their automobile in a crowded garage, check fuel levels, and perform other tasks with a bit of secret agent-like flair.
“Volvo On Call is an app that allows you to literally take control over everyday elements in your Volvo,” said David Holecek, Director Connected Products and Services at Volvo Cars. “You can set heater timings for those cold and frosty mornings or cool down your car in hot weather, check your fuel level and mileage, or time to next service. It even helps you to locate your car in a crowded parking garage.”
In addition to smartwatch functionality, Volvo is also giving the On Call app a makeover to mimic the new design of the Sensus driver interfaced used in the 2016 XC90.
