RoadTrippers: Let’s Us Help You Open The Roads
“That’s what it’s all about. Driving down long stretches of asphalt, pulling over at a local diner for some grub and discovering the most incredible roadside wonders.” – Roadtrippers
Roadtrippers is the first and only complete road trip planner that lets you map out your route, find places relevant to you and create a travel itinerary that gets you on the road for the trip of a lifetime. Its application calculates approximate trip mileage, travel time, and fuel cost. Roadtrippers lets users discover independently-owned points of interest anywhere in the United States, within 50 miles of a planned trip. Once a trip is saved, it can be synced to your mobile apps, for turn-by-turn navigation and further local discovery while on the road.
The level of granularity available is impressive. For example, if you are interested in seeing amusement parks and microbreweries, you can filter the map down to just these options. Every point of interest also includes a place page with a crowdsourced Rad-O-Meter reflecting the views of the Roadtrippers community. If you’re just interested in browsing, the site also includes some hand-picked guides that curate points of interest into unique tours. Although you can’t plan new routes on the app, you can constantly check out attractions nearby, and pull up the directions you found on the web.
Co-Founders James Fisher and Tatiana Parent had been suffered from an incurable case of wanderlust. So, they decided to design a web and mobile platform that streamlines discover, planning, booking and navigation into one engaging road trip planner.
Powered by a fleet of local experts and travel writers, Roadtrippers features a seemingly infinite database of amazing places. The idea is to inspire and promote awareness for local, offbeat and culturally stimulating experiences. After all, it’s all about the journey.
The Roadtrippers app is available for both iOS and Android.
Currently, the Roadtrippers team is looking to expand their company outside of the United States to Canada and to the United Kingdom. Share your comments with us.
