16 companies and hundreds of supporters from London’s biggest and best tech companies and startups journeyed to TeamSport Docklands near North Greenwich last night to battle it out at 40+MPH in the first ever KARTFIGHT London.

After an incredible evening of racing, cheered on by their supporters, in the grand final Facebook took the chequered flag to finish on the top step of the podium, crowning themselves KARTFIGHT champions. Car Throttle finished in 2nd place to rapturous cheers of their supporters, with Crowdcube finishing best of the fintech teams on the final step of the podium with a well deserved 3rd place.

KARTFIGHT is the first of its kind – a unique event for some of the biggest names in the London tech and startup scene to combine a sport that everyone loves – go-karting – with the fantastic opportunity to socialise and network together with each other in a unique environment. Each company was asked to pick 4 drivers – their chosen champions – to represent them in the competition, with a host of the company’s employees coming along to cheer on their team and take advantage of the of the complimentary hospitality on offer.

Will Tew, founder of KARTFIGHT, said of the inaugural event; “Last night was the most incredible tech event I have ever witnessed. The atmosphere was electric with drivers and supporters enjoying themselves both on and off the track. We are looking forward to bringing back KARTFIGHT next year and to see if anyone can knock Facebook off the top of the podium”.

KARTFIGHT London will be returning in 2016, expanding to include more companies from a wider range of industries. The event was brought to London by 3T Racing and was supported by a cross-section of startup and entrepreneurial businesses including Hired, Atom Beers, Alpha Timing, ZEROdB Live, TeamSport, DizzyTwilight.com, and Way Media.
