Maybe we should change the way car companies have been called for decades as Carmakers. Maybe we should call them: Vehicle Makers.

That’s because of the diversity in product ranges of car companies nowadays, like Volkswagen just announced that they plan to release a foldable, three-wheel electric scooter. Volkswagen is positioning the scooter as a Segway competitor that will not only be quite a bit lighter, at 24 pounds, but it will also be much cheaper. The scooter itself has a range of about 12 miles, which should certainly be enough to get you from your car to your destination and back. It could also come in handy for zipping in-and-out of airports or shopping malls. Scooter Adviser reviewed this scooter and it was a detailed one.

The design of the new scooter is inspired from Volkswagen’s XL1, of which only 250 models have been built. Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn is very proud of this flat-colored and futuristic design. It’s supposed to come to market by the second half of 2016 and cost less than 1000 euros.
