How To Get Rid Of Remembering Your Passwords?

“Treat your password like your toothbrush. Don’t let anybody else use it, and get a new one every six months.” — Clifford Stoll

In fact, I now have at least 100 IDs and passwords, and I’m looking for ways to remember or manage them. Even if it means using active directory reporting software for example, then at least this shows that you are taking the steps to help protect your data and confidential information, which everyone should do.

Although some people told me to keep an alphabetical list in a little black book, partly because I have more trouble remembering which log-on I used than remembering the password, It’s a reasonably safe decision not to write down the actual usernames and passwords.

Recent research from Robertson, professor of psychology at the Institute of Neuroscience and School of Psychology at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, illustrates the growing amount of alphanumeric clutter in our heads: the average person now has to remember five passwords, five PIN numbers, two number plates, three security ID numbers, and three bank account numbers just to get through everyday life.

Also, a 2007 study of Web users by Microsoft Research found that the average user has 6.5 Web passwords, each of which is shared across almost four different websites. In addition, each user has about 25 accounts that require passwords and types an average of 8 passwords per day.

And this could just be the passwords in your personal life, away from the workplace. How many more passwords and usernames do you think you are required to remember during your days at the office? It is most likely to be quite a few extra. It may even get to the point where your employers have decided to look into finding the Best Free Remote Desktop Software Australia (or one that it’s in your area) to offer remote help to you in being able to access files in case it has got to the point where you have locked yourself out because you’ve tried so many potential options.

Too much to remember? Then don’t remember anything
