If you’ve ever been on the Google Campus in Mountain View, California, you would probably be impressed with the rainbow-like bicycles that Googlers use to commute between buildings.

Silicon Valley is well-known with giant tech companies and cool geeks who also love fitness. LinkedIn, Tesla Motors, etc. have been offering bicycles as the fun and healthy way for people to run between meetings.

Bicycles are fun, but we need something that’s not just fun, but also cool and techy. This Oxboard is an example.

Like the Segway, this hybrid board has a footboard propped up on two wheels, riding passengers face-forward across sidewalks, walkways, and similar paved paths. Both the footboard and the wheels are way more compact, with the large steering column completely eliminated.

Powered by electricity and weighing around 20 pounds, Oxboard gives you a fun ride without having to use your legs. All you need to do is stand up on the board, and enjoy! It can handle riders up to 240 pounds, ferrying them distances of up to 12 miles on a single charge. No handlebars? No problem. The company claims you should be able to master it within half an hour of use.

The Oxboard comes in three versions: Zwart, Rood and Wit. They all have the price tag of €800 ($875). Click here to make a purchase.
