It’s no secret that Google has been working on Artificial Intelligence. Their ability to expand and participate in all aspects of technology is amazing and we aren’t the only ones who think so.

Professor Geof Hinton is an expert in Artificial Neural Networks and his perspective is: “Google is on the brink of developing algorithms with the capacity for logic, natural conversation and even flirtation.” The process involves things called “thought vectors” which allow the program to develop it’s own thoughts  and allow the A.I. to have it’s own “common sense” explains Hinton who has been doing work on A.I. with Google for two years.

Thought Vectors would allow the A.I to learn language and hold conversation as well as comprehend logic. Scientist have found these two things as the most human defining features and therefore strides in artificial intelligence. The brilliance is that Hinton truly belives that there will be a time when humans will fall attached for A.I. in some ways comparable to the movie Her by Spike Jonez.

Google’s practicality and useful algorithms make sense when approaching Artificial Intelligence because they use thought vectors and other systems already. Thought vectors are used in Google Translates recent updates in order to make sense of phrases instead of translating verbatim and getting lost in translation. Google also already has it’s robotics company, Boston Dynamics, and it’s personal assistant that uses an algorithm to learn your habits, schedule, etc. by monitoring your online history and location.

The real question now is whether it is responsible at all to move forward with A.I. and how Google plans on keeping it’s assistant on the right track of thought so that it’s always well educated and progressive thinking.
